Who's interested in presenting?

By cindi - Posted on 01 May 2008

Hey everyone! I loved last year's Showcase, and the topics list so far is really exciting. I am particularly interested in doing a presentation/screencast on social capabilities of our favorite websites and how they are (and, frankly aren't) being incorporated into the tools, resources and software that we purchase for our libraries.

Who else is interested, in what topic?

Great site, Griffey! :)

I'd be interested in presenting/screencasting on the lastest additional features in Facebook and discuss whether they are helping or hindering themselves, and what tools are being used (or could be used) by libraries.

Actually, Cindi, your topc would probably cover this one as well, so it might be fun to collaborate if you are interested...? Although I am more interested in the open-source applications. :-)

Let me know!

Great idea; would love to see how collaborating on a screencast would work. :)

Now, need to write up my CiL preso--jumping off point for this, whether I do a screencast for this or not...

Not sure when the Showcase will be, but I'd be interested in presenting on Zotero/Connotea/CiteULike along with where they've led me. - Lorena

Once again, I have a committee conflict during BigWig. At some point,I'ld like to be active with Bigwig--hopefully this forum does it! ;-)

I'd be interested in presenting on specialized social networks and how the resources created within them can be used in libraries. I'm in particular thinking of sites like Ravelry (knitting) and Eons (Baby Boomers).

I'm doing a presentation on using social software to collaborate - calling it Collaborating in the Cloud - in Jamaica in early June. As long as this session doesn't conflict with the session I'm doing on the 28th (4-5:30) on IT departments in libraries, I'd love to do part of my collaboration presentation at the showcase, as well.
